Week 227 (till 2025-07-11)

Review

All cash from the dividend portfolio will end up here over time. I need to make sure, I am not getting into wash sales.  The first proceeds have arrived in the new account.

The first 2 positions have been created. $1,000.00 went into CAH and 2 shares of Meta were purchased.

The Next Set Has Been Liquidated

Outline

This week I sold MAIN, META,  JHG.
The trades have settled and I move the proceeds into the new account.
So far all sales have been for profit.

The Process to Move to Dividend Portfolio 2.0 Started

Outline

I closed out the following positions today:
CAH, AVGO, T, GILD, CI, UNM, SPY, CSCO, BMO, BTI, AMGN, NVDA, IWM.
Let's remember I closed the positions because I restructure my accounts. I picked those, because there will be no issues with the wash sale rule.
When I looked at the details of the positions, I was surprised about UNM.
Since Aug-30-2021 I have a position in UNM. For the positions in 2021, they are all 200+% gain. 2021 dividend reinvestments have 100+% return. Only November 21 is 79% return. UNM is not one of the tickers widely talked about or that shows daily on CNBC.

Once the trades settle, the proceeds will be moved and after July 9, they will be re-invested, not necessarily into the same tickers. July 9th is close and Trump said, he is not extending the tariffs break.

Restructering my Finances

Outline

I am in the process of  restructuring the finances. With that said, I am going to suspend any purchases of  new positions. How ever the weekly contributions to the account remain in affect. They just stay in cash for now. It has nothing to do with the political situation. My plan is to have all the finances re-organized by the end of the summer.  At that point in time I will resume the postings.

Week 217-218 (till May 11, 2025)

I dumped WU, and bought all the things as planed.

Plans for next 2 weeks

VZ and MDT get the money for the next 2 weeks. The proceeds of WU have not been invested yet.

Week 215+216 (till Apr. 25, 2025)

Review

As planed I bought the 7 shares for AB back for $37.81. As planed GOOGL and CAH got both each $200. I reviewed the selling INTC and LMT in February. See my post from Feb. 21, 2025.  The proceeds of $532 are still in the account. It is time to deploy this. There are still plenty of chances that market can drop like a rock. Walmart and Target had a private meeting with Trump talking about supply chain disruptions that may come and even go into this years Christmas business. Going to Walmart is a destination for me (20 min drive), while a Super Target (includes groceries) is pretty close to where I live. I have already seen empty shelfs these days. Ok, they are not as bad as during Covid, but they are still noticeable.
Looking at my positions, I will also dump WU. While the yield is great, the declining stock price simply does not make up for it.

Plans for next 2 weeks

I will dump WU.
25% of the proceeds from February will go to NVDA, 25% into JEPQ,  25% go into BAM and 25% go into O. Now $200 this week and next week go into MFC and EXG.

Week 214 (till Apr. 11, 2025)

Review

In week 214 $6.72 entered the account in dividends. As planed I added to MO and IWM.
I just finished doing my taxes for 2024. The tax prep fee increased by about 50%. One of the reasons were the K1's. Check with your tax prep firm how they account for K1's tax wise. Not only that they are notoriously late for getting the documents, some tax prep companies charge a fee per K1 during tax season.
As I am in the process of re-structuring a lot of things, I leave things as they are right now. Let's see how that turns out.

Market Review

Today the news on the ticker was, that phones, computers and other electronics will be exempt from the tariffs.  With that I do expect tech stocks to gap up on Monday morning and Nasdaq stocks getting a big boost. It is time to add so those positions.
2025-04-12-01

Plans for next 2 weeks

I still own some fractional shares from AB (see my March post.) I am going to re-establish my position and buy my 7 shares on the market for a lower price than I got last week. AB has a K1, unfortunately,  but also has an 9% yield.
For the regular investments, $200 go into CAH and depending what happens on Monday to GOOGL.
