Covered Call - BROS - New Trade

The Trade

BROS is a new ticker, that was not on my radar. I picked it up from a trading group member.

Over the past 5 years, this stock, really did not go anywhere since Apr 2022. That is what I like for my covered calls.

It is like owning an piece of real estate and rent it out by the week or couple of weeks or by the month.

Now based on the chart there is the possibility the stock goes back down to $24ish.

I trade from a 6 months daily chart.

What I like a lot is the Volume profile. The point of control on both charts is roughly at the current trade price. In translation, there is a lot of buying and selling is happening at this price point.

The trade entered on Friday.

Buy 100 shares at 27.80 each for a total of 2780. For selling the Feb 2 C28 the credit was 45$. 45/2780=0.016 or 1.6% for the week.

Goal is to get called out next week and I am also getting another 20$ for capital appreciation. If I don’t get called out, I get to keep the 45$ (rent) and sell a new option. Now that bridge I cross on Friday.

Covered Call - LVS - Update Jan 29

On Monday I put a cover on the 100 shares again. Expiration is Feb 9.

I got $56 credit for this.

This now covers the ex-date for the dividend.

Covered Call - LVS - New Trade

The original trade was entered Jan 2.

LVS started to pay a dividend again, which is nice. Now with 1.6% yield, it is not much, but better than nothing. Online savings accounts pay better the 1.6% a year.

Past trade history:

2024-01-02: buy 100 shares for 50.82 = $5,082 investment

Returns since then

2024-01-05 :  $57.33 for selling a 51C with Jan 05 expiration date

2024-01-11: $60.22 for selling a 51C with Jan 11 expiration date

2024-01-26: 140.31 for selling a 51C with Jan 26 expiration date.

On Friday I missed selling a call.

The plan for Monday: 

The plan is to sell a Feb 9 51C on Monday. Current market data show $70-$75 credit. Now this can change till the market opens tomorrow morning. 

Ex-date for the dividend is Feb 5. That gives me the possibility to pick up another 20$ dividends if I don’t get called out before that.
