Covered Call - BROS - Update 2024-02-24 - Closed

Earnings was interesting. It gapped up and then did sell off. The trading range was big on 2/22. High $29.22 and low  $26.38 or $2.84 for the trading range. The average trading range over 14 trading days is $1.01. On Friday the market had a big up day. NVDA rocked with their earnings. It lifted the entire market.

Thursday night I already wrote in my trade book, that I need to sell another call on Friday. And then on Friday the closing price was 28.70. 
Total return on the trade. $208.87 or 7.51% on invested capital. Total trade duration 4 weeks.

Don't get me wrong. This is a total home run. This does not happen with most of the trades.

In my trading rules, the only exit is getting called out. That means, that I still have some stocks on the books that are down. One reason it is important that the stocks pay dividends. Now they can be cut e.g. WBA or completely suspended e.g. WDC

Trade Update

On Friday:  I bought back the short call for 5 cents and sold a Feb 23 C28 for 1.20 cents.

This is a nice premium, but also indicates anything can happen on 2/21 when earnings get announced. The Market Maker Move is +/- $2.778.

Closing price on Friday was $27.40. Premiums returned with short options so far $69.58 (excluding Friday).

Review

The  6. week of 2024 paid  $15.66 to  the account. 
I dropped 2 positions from the account: AQN and WBA. WBA had a really bad performance and did cut the dividend. The AQN performance is not much better. I sold both positions for a loss. The proceeds of $93.56 go into THW

Plan for next week

Next week $150 go into SPYI again.

Covered Call - LVS - Update Feb 9, 2024 - Closed

LVS did go up nicely. I got called out of my trade.

Total gain from selling the calls: $3.20/per share or  6.3% ROI.
There are also 20$ coming from a dividend (not included in the calculation)

Trade Update

I don't like what happened today. We are sitting at support right now. If we move down further, I will close the trade for a loss.

On Friday:  I bought back the short call for 5 cents and sold a Feb 16 C28 for 36 cents.
