Update Nov 01 (week 35)

Added

As outlined last week, 20$ went into SPY, 50$ into INTC and 30$ into VZ.

Review

This week I got dividends from T, GL, VZ, THW and TD for a total of $3.03. As TD is a Canadian stock, I had to pay 10c of ADR frees. Since inception this are now $25.55 in dividends. It is not a steak dinner yet, but I can get a few coffees at Starbucks…lol… I actually only go to Starbucks when I travel.
Friday morning I woke up really early, so I watched CNBC World Market for a bit. At around  5:45am they have (brought back) a section about most insider buying. They have criteria's to get the top 5. Interesting enough #2 was INTC. Looking at just the INTC and purchases, there was a lot of buying last week. Source openinsider.com

Last week I talked about putting 20$ a week into SPY. Funny enough, Steven is planning to do something similar after his article about SPY investing.

This week's best performing position was AVGO. It current represents 50% of the total value appreciation of the investments. Now keep in mind, this 1 share is 12%  of the account. This is always great when things go up. However nothing goes up forever. It will be equally as painful when AVGO goes down.

Plan Week November 08

As outlined last week, $20 go into SPY. I am looking for another Utility. I only have 2% in it. This needs to increase a bit to take out some volatility.

Another blog I read for dividend income investing posts this portfolio and the updates each month. This ticker is from this portfolio. It also showed up in my yield scan. The remaining 80$ go into his ticker. Earnings were last Friday.

  1. What a great idea to have a investment diary for yourself. I wish I did this years ago as a full time home trader but that was when these things didn't exist. How did you create this? I used to use Investools but that is long gone. I got into real estate and out of the market since. What investment tools do you use?

  2. I learned with Investools as well. If you are on FB, there is an Investools Alumni group, in case you want to join.
Please answer the questions when you ask to join.
The inspiration came from Seeking Alpha. Steven Fiorillo started the same thing. I liked the idea. However our objectives are a bit different. I use my education from Investools, am still member of what back then were usergroups and run my own usergroup for over 12 years now. I listen to TDA education if I can manage it time wise, learned a lot from Sosnoff when he started TastyTrade. I have a paid subscription to FastGraphs. They have a good free video channel on youtube.
